Accessibility Tags roll out this week on PlayStation Store on the PS5 console

As we strive to make gaming more accessible for all players, today we're excited to announce the global rollout of Accessibility Tags to the PlayStation Store on PS5 this week.

Accessibility tags allow game developers to provide detailed information about the accessibility features supported in their games. As you navigate through the various Game Centers on the PlayStation Store Game Centers on PS5, you will see a list of accessibility features by pressing the "Triangle" button if the selected game supports accessibility tags. These can range from visual and audio accessibility settings to DualSense controller options, difficulty settings and online communication features such as chat transcription.

Accessibility badges will be available for PS5 and PS4 games in the PlayStation Store on PS5. If both PS5 and PS4 versions are available, you can use the drop-down menu to compare accessibility marks for each.

With accessibility tags, you'll be able to easily find out if the game you want to play has the accessibility features you're looking for. Here's a sampling of the more than 50 accessibility brands game developers can choose from in six categories:

Visual accessibility features such as clear text, large text, color alternatives, audio cues, and audio directional indicators.

Audio features such as volume control, mono audio, screen reader and visual cue alternatives.

Caption and caption options, including caption size, clear captions, and large captions.

Control options, including button remapping, thumb sensitivity, and the ability to play without holding a button, quick button press, or motion control.

Game options such as difficulty settings, skippable puzzles, simplified quick time events and game speed.

Online communication capabilities such as text or voice chat transcription and ping communication.

PlayStation Store accessibility badges for PS5 will be rolling out to players this week. At launch, a number of games such as Days Gone, Death Stranding Director's Cut, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, God of War, God of War Ragnarök, Gran Turismo 7, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Returnal will support accessibility tags. We are just starting to roll out this feature and are working with a number of developers to implement this feature into their PS5 Game Centers in the coming weeks and months.

Together with the wide range of accessibility settings in the PS5 user interface, accessibility tags allow you to tailor your PS5 gaming experience to your individual gaming needs. They're the latest step in our journey to make gaming accessible, alongside inclusively designed games from PlayStation Studios and upcoming products like Project Leonardo.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this feature and how we can continue to improve game accessibility for our community.
